Dawson's First Hiking Trip

This last Sunday was BEAUTIFUL!!!  We grabbed our backpacks and headed to the hills for a family hike.  Dawson had a great time, but his Mom and Dad had even more fun watching his reactions...giggling at the dog jumping over fallen logs and chasing birds, pointing at all the trees (though he wouldn't touch them) and he even got to see REAL, LIVE DEER (he spent the drive home pointing out the window, saying DEER!)  My knee did really well, thanks to my awesome brace, and my back was just fine hauling my 24 pound boy for nearly 2 hours, thanks to my awesome Ergo backpack.  It was priceless to be out as a family!

Fun Inside!

My little guy LOVES playing outside, or "outsidaah" as he calls it.  We have had some really nice days, but we also have had really crappy snowing and blowing days, like today.  In an effort to keep my little monkey active and happy, I bought an inside slide.  It is a HIT!

(I apologize for the LOUD mommy in the background of this video)

We also improvise and use a footstool that had storage in it for a toybox/chair!

I especially love the quiet moments he spends reading.

A Day at the Park!

Big slide, little boy

Let's Climb!

Swinging is still the best!

Time to go home...

...to take a bath and make this sweet bubble hat!

We Love Outside!

Once again we were fortunate enough to get to play outside. Dawson got to pet the horses, watch the dog chase the ball, explore the back yard, chew on a dirty stick before Mom could grab it, and play with his dump truck. I just love his little "leave me alone, I am playing" look.

Potty Picture Post!

For the last little while, nearly every time I take off Dawson's diaper to either change or bathe him, he has been peeing! So I decided to buy a little potty for him and start placing him on the potty each time I take his diaper off and see how it goes. We (Dawson and I) picked out the Royal Stepstool Potty that has a sensor and plays a tune when there is potty success. We came home, set up the potty and gave it a try. The music immediately started to play seconds after he sat down, he smiled and said "pooopooopoo" (what he says when he pees with the diaper off) and sure enough...he did! I made a very big deal, singing and dancing, so he was quite excited and I got this proud little potty picture to mark the occasion.
